I'm a law/criminal justice student at Kaplan Online University and the professors there often provide information for study processes other than the traditional text books, but... most often their information is somehow radified by legal officials, state law sites, or judicial case presentations. Mid Unit 8, I received a page of links including this paragraph:
"Paralegals function well in their traditional roles as assistants to attorneys and their clients during mediation, but paralegals can also function as mediators. Whether paralegals wish to become full-time, part-time, or volunteer mediators, there are certain initial steps that they can take on the path toward their new profession."
The article "Mediation Training: An Opportunity for Paralegals" by Jennifer Grassini speaks to the role paralegals can play in mediation and is referred to and mentioned numerous times in class discussion and seminar. I was quite impressed by the recognition Jennifer was given as the author of this informative article.
Just goes to show where our articles might show up... Who knows, we might all get honorable mention in educational texts over the next twenty years.
